I've been shooting for some time now and even though I specialize in weddings and portraits, I still like to create works of art for me.
The collections below are all projects and subjects that I feel passionate about. I want to share my culture with the rest of the world.
“El Cantero” is a series that takes on a closer perspective on what it’s like to be a charro. I had the honor of photographing my uncle for this series, Luis Cantero. Luis has been a charro for over forty years and he’s dedicated most of his life to this lifestyle. The details you see in his attire and the lines on his face tell us a story about the wisdom he’s inherited throughout his life.
I put together "La Calaca" in an effort to get closer to my roots. My family has celebrated Day of the Dead for many years now. I wanted to create a body of work that explored the vibrant colors throughout my culture. I styled the shoot and I also took care of the makeup
"Tierras Lindas" features traditional Latin attire from different parts of Mexico. Certain states throughout Mexico have specific attire that is used when cultural dances are performed. Every outfit is carefully made by indigenous hands and I wanted to capture the details and beauty within the clothes.
